“As a nurse and a counselor, I bring additional expertise to view my clients from both an emotional and physical perspective, thus providing a truly comprehensive assessment. As appropriate, I will be able to coordinate care with any medical provider, having a thorough understanding of the interplay between the mental health and medical components of problems.”
Barbara’s main passion is working with couples, utilizing a solution- focused approach with an optimistic outlook as she guides them toward developing a stronger relationship. She also works with individuals in a variety of areas.
“My counseling style is interactive, respectful, non-judgmental and supportive. With gentle questioning, I help people get in touch with their own values and ideals and gain trust in themselves to make decisions for a better lifestyle.”
Drawing from both her personal and professional experiences, Barbara recently penned her first book, The Gift of a Lifetime, Building a Marriage That Lasts.
“The couples who read this book together will stay together. In fact, The Gift of a Lifetime will make the difference between taking a 2nd Honeymoon or a trip to the divorce attorney’s office.”
The book is available on Barbara’s new Gift of a Lifetime website where she hosts a popular relationship blog.
Barbara has always been invested in the communities where she lives and works. A Long Island native, Barbara has made Georgia her home for the last 26 years; her private practice is in Cumming, GA.
“I am devoted to my family-- I have 2 grown daughters, 4 grandchildren, and a Shih Tzu. In fact, ‘Gingerlily’ often accompanies me to work. (Any allergic clients please be sure to advise me prior to your appointment.)”
Barbara loves spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, playing tennis, bowling, hiking and enjoying the outdoors.
